About Me

biography

Catalina was born in 1993 in Santiago, Chile. She began her formal studies in lyrical singing with the countertenor Luther Riobo in 2015, alongside her music studies at the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso, Chile, where she graduated as a Music Teacher, Bachelor of Sciences and Arts in Music, and Bachelor of Education. In 2021, she achieved a Master's degree in Classical and Contemporary Music Performance, specializing in singing, at the Liceu Conservatory, Spain. In 2023, she graduated with a second postgraduate degree from the same institution, a Master's in Opera, debuting the role of Despina in Mozart's Così fan tutte.

In Chile and abroad, she has been invited to sing as a soloist with various orchestras, instrumental and vocal groups, performing works such as: Mozart's Coronation Mass, Vivaldi's Gloria, Fauré's Requiem, Haydn's Missa Brevis Sancti Joannis Deo, Britten's Festival Te Deum, Mozart's Laudate Dominum from Vesperae solennes de confessore, El Cant de La Sibil•la, among others. She has participated in masterclasses with renowned teachers such as: Luciana Serra, Manuel Burgueras, Miquel Ortega, Salvatore Caputo, Adrian Thompson, Marta Pujol, Carlos Chausson, Dolors Aldea, Mark Hastings, Fiorenza Cedolinis, Eduard Giménez, Carmen Bustamante, and others. She currently works with the chorus of the Opera Foundation of Catalonia and studies with the Catalan mezzo-soprano Francesca Roig since 2023.
