biography
Catalina was born in 1993 in Santiago, Chile. She began her formal studies in lyrical singing with the countertenor Luther Riobo in 2015, alongside her music studies at the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso, Chile, where she graduated as a Music Teacher, Bachelor of Sciences and Arts in Music, and Bachelor of Education. In 2021, she achieved a Master's degree in Classical and Contemporary Music Performance, specializing in singing, at the Liceu Conservatory, Spain. In 2023, she graduated with a second postgraduate degree from the same institution, a Master's in Opera, debuting the role of Despina in Mozart's Così fan tutte.
In Chile and abroad, she has been invited to sing as a soloist with various orchestras, instrumental and vocal groups, performing works such as: Mozart's Coronation Mass, Vivaldi's Gloria, Fauré's Requiem, Haydn's Missa Brevis Sancti Joannis Deo, Britten's Festival Te Deum, Mozart's Laudate Dominum from Vesperae solennes de confessore, El Cant de La Sibil•la, among others. She has participated in masterclasses with renowned musicians such as: Luciana Serra, Manuel Burgueras, Miquel Ortega, Anna Samuil, Salvatore Caputo, Carlos Chausson, Mark Hastings and others. She currently works with the chorus of the "Fundació Òpera Catalunya" and studies with the Catalan mezzo-soprano Francesca Roig since 2023. Visit my blog (opening soon)
